The Style
Diego is a 30 minute animated play and learn series. The hero is Diego Marquez, Dora the Explorer’s cousin. Diego is an 8 year old explorer who loves nature and animals. Just like his counterpart, Dora, Diego encourages his young viewers to help him in his missions. He tries to save animals in danger with the help of his parents. Diego teaches the children about nature and animals as he includes them in his adventures. Young viewers who watch Dora the Explorer already know Diego since he appears in 22 of the Dora episodes. Diego has been staring in his own show since January 2006 on French television (TF1) every Wednesday and on Nickelodeon on Saturdays and Sundays. Diego has been a favourite for two years, children and parents alike all enjoy his play and learn role. Just like his cousin, Diego speaks both English and French but unlike Dora he also talks with the animals. He is always with his pet friend Baby Jag, the little jaguar, Backpack and sometimes his older sister and his parents. Diego has the title of “animal rescuer” which allows him to rescue animals with the help of his family. Diego captures an even larger audience than Dora the Explorer and is quickly becoming one of the top rank heroes of the 4 to 10 year old set (average rating for age segment). He is the equivalent of Dora, for little boys.
